Enough with the forbidden love, Erin! We've all seen it before, especially in your other books. Well, this book was my least favorite out of all of the Warriors book so far. This final battle had better be good, or else I've wasted a lot of time reading about a bunch of cats who didn't end up doing anything. View all 12 comments. Mar 12, Emma rated it it was amazing Shelves: own-it. This was a very good book. Its nice with Flametail got his own chapter, coming from a different clan.
But i though Jafeather and Lionblaze had no personality at all. It feels like the Erins were really struggling to hold it together with this one - the first two thirds felt like a panic to bridge the gap between two major story arcs, and it only really got going nearing page or so. Before that it was much of the same thing with hints at mystery and danger, however once it did take off, it took OFF! When i It feels like the Erins were really struggling to hold it together with this one - the first two thirds felt like a panic to bridge the gap between two major story arcs, and it only really got going nearing page or so.
When it's all rounded up though, there are things I just dont understand Spoilers but I was honestly surprised at the first ever inclusion of multi-clan point of view. It never really seemed to fit having this mini Flametail arc - surely using Dovepaws powers to see what was happening in shadow clan would have made more sense? And now hes just dead lol like what was this for,,, erins really struggled to fill this book The only purpose of having Dovepaw and Tigerheart in a relationship was for the herb issue, forbidden romance is OLD and BORING.
Let's have some forbidden friendships instead!!!! That's far more high stakes. Forbidden friendships have much more of a future. But what forced me to drop the rating was that Graystripe has been completely disregarded as his own character.
Millie is fighting for her alone??? What happened to the charismatic, loyal family man we knew and loved from earlier series? I get that he's to be treated as a background character now, but he barely has anymore presence than like,,, foxleap or mousewhisker. Hes fodder for bulking up patrols and I dont like it. I hope that the enjoyment I got out of the last third of this book continues into the rest of the series. Dec 31, Foreign Grid added it. Im just realizing how good this series could have been if the authors took more time to think things through.
It can delve into very controversial topics some times too, and present them in a GOOD manner that doesn't feel out of the blue. For example they tackled how disabled people are special and shouldn't feel like they need to die just because they cant take care of themselves or live like they used to.
And the pain that comes with being a parent of someone who becomes disabled in a tragic acc Im just realizing how good this series could have been if the authors took more time to think things through. And the pain that comes with being a parent of someone who becomes disabled in a tragic accident as well as the questions of faith that come along with it.
As for the actual over arching plot Also, it's unfortunate but I think the OotS series suffers from a lot of 'telling not showing' but then again I get that the authors wouldn't want someone brand new to the series to be confused, but it wouldn't matter anyways because if they picked up a book this late in the series they would already be confused.
Im more repelled by him than anything. May 07, Sara Jones rated it it was amazing. I thought the book was really good, other than Flametail's death at the end. View all 3 comments. Nov 04, Brody Phillips rated it really liked it Shelves: school-year , fantasy. Very good book. Goes along well in the series! Okay, but why is it every time I have a new favorite they have to die I— 3. I wish I could remember why I abandoned the series after Fading Echoes but that was like 7 years ago. But otherwise, one of the honestly worst plot points of Warriors can be found in this book: view spoiler [StarClan splitting up and telling them that the clans should be only with themselves in order to survive. This makes no sense whatsoever and only causes problems in the course of Omen of the Stars.
This is also one of the few times where Mothwing actually has a valid point that the orders of the StarClan are weird, Jayfeather should have just taken the herbs from her hide spoiler ]. The ending also irritated me so much, Moonkitti summarizes the whole situation well spoilers, obviously : view spoiler [Like, the death of Flametail was so random?
Why did we even get his perspective if he already dies at the end of the book? Why does Jayfeather let him die just because Stone tells him to?
Why is he suddenly in the Dark Forest? Dovepaw starts into her forbidden romance, and I want to scream because we get one of those again. At the beginning, I had the feeling that they had more chemistry than other pairings before. But then there is Lionblaze x Cinderheart which is one of the most annoying pairings in the whole series. But I understand even less why Cinderheart thinks she needs to break up with him because of it?
All in all, many of the interactions between the cats made no sense, especially StarClan makes everything worse. Apr 18, Shayla rated it it was amazing. This book was simply about trust, betray, and hope. Spoilers may accur in the summary. Brambleclaw and Blackstar come to an agreement that ThunderClan gets the well-fought-over land. Russetfur has lost her only life and Firestar has had another life ceased from him.
Tigerheart and Dovepaw start to meet in private. Cinderheart thinks she can finally trust Lionblaze to be more than friends. Bonds form, but others fall a This book was simply about trust, betray, and hope.
Bonds form, but others fall as every medicine cat from all clans are told that a great battle unlike any other is starting to unfold and the clans ust loose all allies and fight on their own.
This is exceptionally hard fr Littlecloud. Tigerheart betrays Dovepaw. Cinderheart is told the secret from Lionblaze and figures, since he has a different path, that they are not meant to be.
Jayfeather attempts to rescue Flametail from the frozen ake, but the blind medicine cat had no choice but to let him drown on behalf of Rock's message that Jayfeather is more important than the ShadowClan medicine cat. With temsions rising, Ivypaw continues to betray her clan as a spie in the Dark Forest.
